I was recently forwarded a video about the assessment process at Heineken.
While the video is very funny it raises a serious question.
How do we assess people during interviews when the responses are often more scripted than the questions?
The approach at work here is to assess people when they don’t know they are being assessed.
The science of assessments has shown as well that peer ratings is one of the best ways to assess people. In other terms, people will assess you during your normal work day, when you are not officially assessed. Often the issue here is getting truthful feedback when it is done for reference checking.
That is what collective intelligence is all about, and how we have been able to re-invent reference checking services at Checkster!
